ASPI-Layer

You must have installed an "ASPI-Layer" (Advanced SCSI Programming Interface) so that Feurio!® works. The ASPI-Layer permits Feurio!® (and other programs) to access to SCSI-devices (and also IDE-Devices!) directly, so e.g. your CD-Writer, independendly of the vendor of the hostadapter.
The ASPI-Layer you can find either on the driver discs of the hostadapter or on the website of the vendor:

At: http://www.yamahayst.com/ you'll find the support website of Yamaha; please select there "CD Recorders", than you can download there Firmware-Updates, look at data sheets, read FAQs, download handbooks, etc.

Philips®:
At http://www.pc.be.philips.com/osc/ you can reach the "Optical Storage Club"; there press the button "CD-R/RW", so that you get to the "CD-Recorder-Section"; then press e.g. "Downloads" to download Firmware-Updates, or "Manuals"  for handbooks, etc.

Ricoh®:

At: http://www.mitsumi.com/drivers-redirect.html you will find (among other things) the Firmware 2.01 for the Mitsumi 4801TE. This you'll need for Feurio!®, since only with this Firmware it is possible to write in the Disc-at-Once Mode.

TEAC CD-ROMs®:
At http://www.teac.de/support/Deutsch/aktuell.htm (german) resp. http://www.teac.co.jp/dspd/product/software/romupdate/explain.html you can find the Firmware-Updates for different TEAC CD-ROMs. These Updates you'll need e.g. to reach the full reading-speed of the drives.

Philips CDD 2600 / HP 6200 repairguide:
Unfortunable, the Philips CDD 2600 and the HP 6200 are a little bit "misconstructed". After using them for a longer time, you might get strange error reports. Nero®:
Often I'am asked about a software, that can "overburn" also data CDs.
However, I don't suggest the overburning of data CDs in any way (the risk of losing the data is too high), but who wants to do that absolutely, can download a Demo-version of Nero at: http://www.ahead.de. With Nero data CDs can also be overburned!

BMDriver.com:
At http://www.bmdrivers.com you can download Busmaster-drivers for different motherboards. With a Busmaster-driver you can read data from or write data to IDE-devices almost without using the CPU - so it is STRONGLY recommended to install a Busmaster-driver!

BladeEncoder:
At http://home.swipnet.se/~w-82625/ you can download the BladeEncoder. The BladeEncoder is a free program library for creating mp3-files. The "dll-version" can be used by Feurio!®, so that e.g. audio can be read from a CD directly in the mp3-format.
